Counseling Procedure
When a student comes to visit Newton Study Council, we prefer him/her coming with
academic papers
Test (IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT, ACT etc.) results if applicable
Guardian, parents and sponsors accompanying the students will be more than appreciated.
Then the students are asked to fill up the Newton Study Council's Student Information Form which are available for free at Newton Study Council's Reception or at internet at this site for free if they have not filled online already.
If student comes without the academic papers he will be asked to fill up the Information Form only but on his next visit s/he will be asked to submit it on his/her next visit.
Special Requirements
Some of the colleges and countries whom we are working with may require additional documents such as
Financial Documents, SAT, GRE score reports etc.
We categorize into four groups after assessment of among others (his/her academic record according to Nepalese grading systems) i.e.
Genuine: students with score of 75% and above, what we call distinction
Very Good: Students with score of below 75% but above 60%, what we call first division
Acceptable: Students with score of below 60% but above 45%, what we call second division
Unacceptable: Students with score of below 45%, what we call pass division
* with new universities and with it new grading system available in Nepal and also some students studying abroad especially India will be judged on the basis of their certificates whether they are holders of distinction, first division, second division or passed division.
Students falling under first three categories above can be enrolled, and after rigorous interaction of students and their guardians, parents, sponsors with our councilors and management; we will match the courses, countries and subjects abroad. During courses, colleges/ universities and country matching high focus will be given to students' interest. If they have a specified course, in a specified college of a particular country, then thorough information will be given about the pros and cons of studying there. Then we provide detail information of colleges and universities in terms of status i.e. Public or private, location, size, degrees & program available, accreditation and professional membership received, availability of graduate and post graduate degree, weather, environment, safety & security, social crime rate, lifestyle, number of student enroll in different program, number of student representing different countries and from different cultural background, co-ed or only for male or female, class size, facilities & equipment, fame for its quality and international acceptability, on campus or off campus job opportunity, fee structure, cost of living, financial aid, housing i.e. On campus or apartment or host family stay, and transportation facilities.
After matching course, college/university and country we will prepare students for the detailed documentation and procedures required for getting admission to the College/University.
This among others includes
- His/her test score with the required level of score by university or college of his chosen country, if available
- Admit and pay our service charge for whole process NRS. 15,000/-
- Bring all require academic and financial documents original and photocopies with attested if needed.
